Mission Statement

The Faculty Practice Operations and Business Analytics was established to improve and streamline clinical care, and to support the goals of the faculty and the School of Medicine. It consists of the full-time faculty members of the clinical departments of the School of Medicine who practice at UCSF.

The Faculty Practice Operations & Business Analytics aim to:

  •  Facilitating the delivery of primary and specialty clinical services in a patient-friendly, cost-effective, coordinated, and high-quality manner.
  •  Measuring and reporting clinical and business operations performance in a way that encourages collaboration across departments, improves patient satisfaction,   and enhances operational efficiency.
  •  Developing strategic partnerships with other healthcare providers to support the Medical Group's and the medical school's mission.
  • Enhancing clinical practices through coordinated planning, marketing, and delivery of clinical services.
  • Helping UCSF maintain its academic and clinical programs in support of the faculty and the medical school.
  • Marketing the Medical Group's and the Medical Center's clinical services to appropriate stakeholders such as patients, referring physicians, and third-party payers.
  • Providing a unified structure for clinical departments to evaluate, negotiate, and monitor contracts with third-party payers for clinical services, as well as facilitating joint contracting with UCSF Medical Center.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements and quality standards.

By supporting the clinical activities of the faculty, the Medical Group supports the overall mission of the School of Medicine, which includes education, clinical and basic science, and community service.
